New Milestone for Wines of Serbia

From May 20 to 22, Serbian winemakers and distillers are marking another remarkable milestone at the London Wine Fair. This year, for the first time, 8 Serbian wineries, the Association of Brandy Producers of Serbia, and Wine Vision by Open Balkan Fair will be under one roof at one of the largest and most prominent European and global wine fairs that gathers more than 10.000 professional buyers and visitors.

Over the past 40 years, London Wine Fair has consistently attracted tens of thousands of buyers from bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and distributors from the UK, Europe, and the world, making it a hub for wine and related industries. Thus, presence at London Wine Fair represents a unique opportunity for winemakers and distillers from Serbia to showcase their best products, which in the past few years are rightfully gaining more and more attention from wine and liquor connoisseurs on the international stage.

Wines of Serbia are represented this year by “Matalj” Winery, “Šapat” Wine Atelier, Evrdevik Winery, “Deurić” Winery, “Doja” Winery, “Virtus” Winery, “Molovin” Winery, “Panjković” Winery, as well as by a selection of distillers that gained notable global recognition after a national spirit, rakija (plum brandy) made it on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

This inaugural presentation of Serbian businesses at the National Stand of Serbia at London Wine Fair was facilitated by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, the Development Agency of Serbia, and the General Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
